A truly beautiful 1940's tank style wristwatch by Patek Philippe & Co, Geneve with a lovely factory original, lightly patinaed silver dial featuring applied Breguet numerals and sub-seconds at 6 o'clock. This watch has certainly seen some history and carries a wonderful vintage feel on the wrist with a lovely case back engraving dated to 1940 which reads "To A Real Pal, Joe and Harold". The case has simple, elegant curved shape made by the famous maker Fritz Baumgartner S.A. with original glass crystal and all correct engraving inside the back. It has a lovely light rose patina on the edges from years in storage without polishing and measures 22mm wide by 40 mm lug tip to tip with 18mm lug spacing. The dial has a beautiful silver cream background with those incredible applied Breguet numeral hour makers matched with leaf style hands.  Inside we find the famous in-house Patek calibre 9" 90 fully signed and in superb cosmetic and mechanical condition, keeping excellent time.  A truly stunning piece of Patek Philippe watchmaking history and design ready to wear!

Style: Art Deco, Luxury Dress

Case:  Solid 18k yellow gold case measuring 22mm wide excluding the crown (not original) by 40mm lug tip with 18mm lug spacing fitted with a high quality genuine crocodile black strap with generic gold plated buckle.  Halmarked gold on the side of the case near the crown, then again inside.  Signed Patek Philippe & Co, Geneve, Swiss, 4/10, 72-18k-750 with the 2 inside a key makers mark by Fritz Baumgartner S.A. also of Geneve.  Superb lightly polished condition with personal gift engraving on the back.  

Dial: Lovely original factory printed silver dial with outer minute track and signature in black with applied Breguet numeral hour makers.  A light even surface patina gives it a vintage feel with some discolouration visible at the top and bottom.  Also a small piece at the bottom tip is missing from the 3 o'clock marker. The original leaf style hands are also in excellent condition and match the hour markers to perfection. 

Movement: The legendary Patek Philippe caliber 9" 90 form style movement with Geneve stripe decoration on the movement plates and bimetallic balance with blue steel Breguet overcoil hairspring.  Simply stunning in design and craftsmanship at every detail.  Signed Patek Philippe & Co, Genève, 18 Jewels, Three (3) Heat, Cold, Isochronism Adjusted Five (5) Positions.  Running beautifully and keeping excellent time.
