Superb, thin, chronometer grade Paul Ditisheim, Solvil pocket watch in solid 18k gold with beautiful blue enamel details in all original condition. Famous for extravagant case designs as well as being as one of the 20th centuries top watchmakers, Paul Ditisheim not only had a great sense of design, but also engineered and manufactured truly superb chronometer grade movements. He is especially famous for his work concerning the affect of atmospheric pressure and magnetic fields on timing, as well as inventing the affix balance. While he is not currently as famous as Patek and Vacheron, his work will surely one day gain the reputation it deserves in the eyes of the true collector. This pocket watch is an investment quality piece in all original superb condition, recently service and keeping great time.

Case: Solid 18k gold 3-piece snap together case with stunning blue glass enamel detail, sapphire embedded crown and fancy engraved bow. Measures 47mm in diameter and only 9mm thick including the original glass crystal. Signed inside the back Solvil, Paul Ditisheim, 0.750, 18K with all the correct hallmarks. the enamel is in wonderful condition, absolutely perfect on the upper bezel with only a tiny 2mm piece missing from the back. The 100% original bow is brass and will have naturally lost its gold plating over time although is still beautifully clear and clean in its engraving.
Dial: Original factory printed silvered dial with unique roman numeral design, outer minute track and small seconds at 6:00. Some small blemishes to note, but overall in wonderful bright condition. Signed Paul Ditisheim, Solvil.
Movement: Chronometre grade manual wind movement by Paul Ditisheim with blue Breguet overcoil hairspring, micro-regulator and Geneva stripe plate decoration. Signed Solvil, Paul Ditisheim, 16 Jewels, Four Adjustments, Swiss. Recently serviced by our watchmaker and in excellent working condition.
