This truly stunning Cartier Tank Americaine has a beautifully sculpted solid 18K gold case, deep blue sapphire crown and gorgeous original dial, all in near mint condition. Included also is the orginal 18K solid gold deployment buckle, strap, box and papers. This was the largest version of the timepiece when produced in the early 1990's measuring 23.5mm wide excluding the crown, by just over 40mm lug tip to tip. Today, as fashions have chanced, would be considered the medium size model and looks spectacular on any wrist, male or female. Notice the sharp corner design, exactly immitating the original 1920's models which is significant difference compared to current version in which the outer corners have been rounded. A very collectible timepiece as it was the first automatically powered Tank Americaine Cartier released, and in all original condition a truly special find. Notice the very low serial number at 00295. A classic and timeless piece of wristwatch history from the famous design house of Cartier, France.

Case: Solid 18k gold 2-piece case with 8 gold screws to secure the back and 4 on the sides to secure the movement plate inside. Measures 23.5mm wide by 40.6mm long excluding the original gold faceted crown with stunning deep blue natural sapphire tip. The back is stamped Cartier Paris, Automatic, Water Resistant 18k, Swiss made with correct Swiss hallmarks and model number 8172984. Beautiful condition with polished top, brushed back and perfect sapphire crystal.
Buckle: Gorgeous original solid gold deployant buckle signed Cartier Swiss Made, 750 18K with correct hallmarks. Snaps closed perfectly and is absolutly as tight as the day it was made. The original genuine strap does have some light wear, but is also in superb condition and signed Cartier Paris, Made In France. Adjusts to almost any size wrist.
Dial: Original factory printed dial with roman numeral design, inner minute track and date aperture at 3:00 |(quick-set), signed Cartier, Swiss Made with micro printing secret signature within the X at 10:00. Near mint condition. Blue steel spade style hands with center seconds.
Movement: High quality automatically wound movement signed Cartier with 20 Jewels, incabloc balance protection and mono-metalic balance. Recently serviced by our watchmaker and in excellent working condition.
