Absolutely gorgeous 1950's LeCoultre solid 14k gold Powermatic dress watch with rare black Breguet numeral dial, fancy lugs and power reserve indicator, freshly serviced here at Meticulous and ready to wear! A beautifully designed timepiece in every way this watch pops off the wrist with its deep black gilt printed dial, red power reserve indicator and symmetrical 12-3-6-9 layout. The sword style hands complete that late Art Deco look to perfection. The rare solid 14k yellow gold case is spectacular with its swooping stylized lugs and thin profile measuring just under 35mm in diameter. This watch was designed by Jaeger-LeCoultre in Switzerland who exported the movement to America to be cased and timed in their US factory as you can see by the signature inside the case back. A truly stunning and rare solid gold example of an early automatic watch with bumper style movement and power reserve indicator in wonderful all original condition.

Case: Solid 14k yellow gold snap back case measuring 34.5mm in diameter excluding the small original crown with 19mm lug spacing fitted with a perfectly matched new old stock genuine lizard strap. Beautiful oversized crab-like lugs give it a striking presence on the wrist. Stamped on the back 14k, then inside Cased And Timed In U.S.A. By LeCoultre, 14k Gold. Superb gently used condition with light surface wear consistent with age.
Dial: Stunning original factory printed black dial with Breguet numerals 12-3-6-9 and printed gilt minute dots, gold framed power-reserve window and signed LeCoultre Automatic, Swiss. Wonderful condition with just a small arrow shape imperfection in the lower half at around 5:30. Sword style hands match perfectly and are also in superb condition.
Movement: Jeager-LeCoultre calibre 481 bumper style automatic movement with power reserve indicator and an early balance protection shock system on the balance.
