A wonderful solid stainless steel Rensie/Alpina triple-date hour-recording chronograph from the 1940's, housed in a Spillmann "waterproof" case with pump pushers and original crown, powered by the famous Valjoux caliber 72C movement, freshly serviced and ready to wear! Almost identical in style and design to the fabulous Rolex "Jean-Claude Killy" chronograph (Reference 4767, 5036, 6236) with case made by the same famous manufacturer, C.R. Spillmann. Such beautiful quality in every aspect of this timepiece. I just love the the naturally aged original factory printed dial with rose colour dot markers and matching original hands with that sharp, fitted original crown. The late Art Deco style dial features a mirrored rose colour 12 and blue centre chrono hand and red-tipped date pointer. The day and month are displayed in english just below 12:00 with the pointer date hand indicating the date around the outside edge of the dial. The date and month can be quick-set using the buttons at 8:30 and 10:00 respectively. The watch is beautiful on the wrist measuring 36mm diameter (fitted with a 19mm, deep grey blue strap) showing natural signs of wear throughout, unpolished. Inside, protected by the distinctive Spillmann dust cover we find the stunning, high-grade Valjoux 72C movement, also the same as in the Rolex "Killy". It is in gorgeous mechanical and cosmetic condition with the import mark EOP which was used by the Alpina Watch Company, imported by Paul V. Eisner, who's last name spelled backwards is where the brand Rensie originated. A superb quality, beautifully aged and styled Art Deco era complicated chronograph in the same style as the Rolex "Jean-Claude Killy" ready to show off on your wrist!

Case: Solid stainless steel case with pump pusher and waterproof style day and month correctors, measuring 36mm in diameter excluding the original crown with 19mm lug spacing. The case shows some general wear throughout, consistent with age but looks to be unpolished. Should no longer be considered water resistant due to the age of the original gaskets. The inside of the case back is stamped Mulco Watch Co which was also famous for selling Spillmann case chronographs, but I am not sure of the connection here. I do still believe this watch is all original due to its consistent aging and fit. It was imported from Switzerland to be sold in the USA, so perhaps there is some connection there.
Dial: Factory printed original two-tone dial with mirrored rose colour 12, rose dot hour markers and matching hands with blue steel date-pointer and centre seconds chronograph hand. The dial is signed Rensie, Antimagnetic, Swiss with blue date chapter.
Movement: Stunning Valjoux caliber 72C triple-date hour-recording manually wound chronograph movement signed Rensie Watch Co, 17 Jewels, EOP, Unadjusted, Swiss with Breguet overcoil blue steel hairspring on the balance.
