A rare and truly beautiful 1956 Omega Seamaster Automatic with gorgeous original factory printed black dial with gilt printed details and tropic patina, housed in a superb solid stainless steel case with in-house manufactured caliber 503 movement ticking away strong inside, freshly serviced and keeping great time!  A stunning piece on the wrist, this reference 2849-2SC is from the first year of production of this model and very rare to find with gilt print on a black dial.  The naturally faded, deep chocolate brown "tropical" patina makes it a very special piece, absolutely unique in its look and character.  A superb quality vintage 1950's Omega timepiece with a sporty yet classy look that will go with any attire.

Case: Solid stainless steel case measuring 34mm in diameter excluding the Omega signed scallop style crown with bold, wide lugs fitted with an 18mm suede strap.  Signed on the back Seamaster, Waterproof, then inside Acier Inoxydable, Omega Watch Co, Fab Suisse, Swiss Made, Patent + Applied with model number 2849-2SC.  Excellent overall condition, unpolished with clear chamfers still showing on the lugs and light wear consistent with age.  

Dial: Stunning and unique original factory printed black dial with date aperture at 3 o'clock, gold printed outer minute track and signatures that read Omega Automatic, Seamaster Calendar, Swiss Made. The dial has a light even patina giving it a deep chocolate brown, almost black colour.  This is known as a "tropical" look and is highly sought after by collectors for its uniqueness and vintage feel.

Movement: Superb, high quality Omega designed and manufactured caliber 503 automatically wound movement in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition, fully signed Omega Watch Co, Swiss, 20 Jewels, 503 with incabloc shock protection on the balance jewels and a serial number in the 15.1 million range dating it to approximately 1956.  Freshly serviced and in excellent working condition, keeping great time and comes with our full 1 year mechanical warranty.
