This funky 1983 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date two-tone 18k gold and steel timepiece has wonderful vintage flair with its unusual dial and fancy bezel design on a classic Jubilee style bracelet. A rare departure from Rolex's more tradition dial design with long baton style hour markers, this watch has a very stylized look with printed outer 1/5th seconds track and square, faceted hour makers. Beautiful solid stainless steel case with 18k gold engine turned bezel, plastic crystal and original Rolex signed screw-down crown in lightly used condition with matching Jubilee style bracelet. The case measures 34mm in diameter with 19mm lug spacing. Between the lugs at 12:00 is stamped with the model number 15053, then at 6:00 with the serial number in the 7.2 million range dating it to approximately 1983. Inside the back is also fully signed Montres Rolex SA, Geneva, Switzerland, Stainless Steel, 15000. The original two-tone 18k gold an stainless steel bracelet is full length with 23 total links including the endlinks and will fit up to a 7 1/4 to 7 1/2 inch wrist. It is stamped on the clasp blade with the correct model number 62523H.18 (18k) and date code H9, also dating it to 1983. The condition is consistent with light wear for its age with minimal stretch, very comfortable on the wrist.
Dial: Stunning original factory printed champagne dial with wedged shape, polished hour markers and 1/5th seconds track with date aperture at 3:00. Superb condition with cream colour tritium luminous markers on the outer edge of each hour marker. Fully signed Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified, T Swiss T.
