A rare 1997 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Explorer 2 featuring a stunning white "polar" dial with transitional luminova luminous applied in-factory to a Swiss-T<25 (tritium) signed dial! Dubbed the "Tritinova" variation, this combination was only produced for a very short time in 1997 and 1998, with Rolex using up previously manufactured tritium signed dials before switching to the new "Swiss" signed dial that came after. This example is in stunning all original condition throughout, unpolished with stainless steel 40mm diameter case, sapphire crystal, original bracelet and a freshly serviced caliber 3185 movement within keeping excellent time.  Comes in a newer genuine Rolex box.

Case: Solid stainless steel case measuring 40mm in diameter excluding the original signed crown and crown guards with superb original 24 hour bezel in unpolished condition with original brush finish and polished chamfer still clear and sharp. The full length 78790 solid link bracelet with 501B endlinks is also in superb, tight lightly used condition with 15 total links. Both case and bracelet are stamped with matching "U" date codes in the serial number and clasp code dating them to 1997.

Dial: Stunning near mint original factory printed white dial with black surround hour markers and matching hands.  The luminova luminous glows brightly after exposure to light with a light green hue. 

Movement: Chronometer grade Rolex in-house calibre 3185 movement is also in superb cosmetic and mechanical condition, fully signed Montres Rolex SA,  Geneva, Swiss, 31 Jewels, Adj 5 Positions + Temperature.  Keeping excellent time, ready to wear!
