A beautiful vintage 1961 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Chronometer dress watch with rare "underline" dial in a solid stainless steel case with solid 14k yellow gold and cap. This timepiece is in wonderful cosmetic condition throughout, freshly serviced here at Meticulous and ready to wear. The significance of the so called "underline" which you can see visible just below the Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified signature at 6:00, is that it is rare, only seen on some Rolex watches from around 1961 to 1964 when the company was changing the luminous material used on the dials from radium to tritium. Furthermore, it is mostly found on sport models so very unusual to find it on a dress/casual watch such as this OP. I just love the sharp silver background of this dial with the stylish alpha hands, a vertically faceted coronet at 12 and unique wedge shape baton markers at 3,6 and 9. The 34mm diameter case is in lovely, gently used, honest condition. A stunning vintage Rolex timepiece with rare dial and a versatile look suitable for any occasion.

Case: Solid stainless steel case with 14k yellow gold bezel and cap over the main body. Measures 34mm in diameter with 19mm lug spacing fitted with a medium brown croco grain leather strap and generic gold plated buckle. Signed between the lugs at 12 with the model number 1025 and at 6 with the serial number in the 673XXX range dating it to approximately 1961. Signed inside the case back Montres Rolex SA, Geneva, Switzerland, Patented, Stainless Steel Back, 1025. Lightly worn condition throughout with no wear through the gold cap.
Dial: Stunning and rare original factory printed silver dial with sunburst style brushed background and baton markers with alpha style hands and original matching tritium luminous. Superb near mint condition.
