A gorgeous vintage 1966 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner model 5513 in solid stainless steel featuring its original lightly aged deep grey, fat font bezel insert surrounding a beautifully refinished matte black dial which looks gorgeous on the wrist with its cream colour lume markers matching the original hands to perfection. It has that perfect vintage feel on the wrist fitted with a nicely matched light tan leather strap making it very comfortable to wear. The famous calibre 1520 automatic movement within is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition having just been freshly serviced here at Meticulous. Case: All original solid stainless steel case with bi-directional rotating bezel measuring 40mm in diameter excluding the original screw-down crown, signed between the lugs at 12:00 with model number 5513 and at 12:00 with a serial number in the 1.5 million range dating the watch approximately to 1966. It shows signs of wear consistent with age and has most likely had a light polishing sometime in its history. Fully signed inside the back Montre Rolex SA, Geneva, Switzerland, Patented, Stainless Steel, 5513, III.66. The original high dome plastic crystal has been polished, with no chips or scratches visible. The case is fully pressure tested waterproof at the time of service.
Dial: An original factory matte black dial which has been impressively refinished to mirror the original in almost every detail. It is very difficult to tell it is not an original factory printed dial unless inspected under magnification. Fully signed Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, 200m = 660ft, Submariner, Swiss - T<25. The luminous does not glow in the dark which is consistent with an original dial of this age, as are the original hands which have been refilled to match the dial to perfection.
