Case: Solid 18k yellow gold case measuring 36mm in diameter excluding the coronet signed original screw-down crown with 20mm lug spacing fitted with a medium brown, genuine alligator strap and aftermarket gold plated Rolex style buckle. The fluted bezel is still sharp and crisp with light surface wear from gentle use throughout the body and back of the case. The edges along the lugs are still sharp and clean showing it has never been polished. Stamped between the lugs at 12, Registered Design 1601, than at 6 with a serial number in the 1.6 million range dating it to approximately 1967. Fully signed inside the back Montres Rolex SA, Geneva, Switzerland, Patented, Geneva Key 12 (Genex Case Maker), 18k 0.750, 1601.
Dial: Gorgeous original factory printed silver dial with pie-pan style bevel on the edge, gold applied brushed/polished baton style hour markers with tritium luminous plots on each outer edge. Signed Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust, Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified, T Swiss T. Superb bright, clean condition with original open 6's & 9's date disk. The original hands show some light patina but still have all the original tritium fill in place. The date display disk is a special variant with a hooked 7 design correct for this time period and model.
