A beautiful circa 1978 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date Submariner model reference number 1680 in excellent overall condition, serviced and ready to wear. This legendary Rolex timepiece looks fantastic on the wrist, updated with a rare genuine Rolex factory service replacement matte dial, hands and bezel insert that are in superb condition with bright glowing luminous. The bracelet has also been replaced with a newer, genuine Rolex solid link 93150. While this watch has lost many of its original parts, it is still a superb example of an early Rolex Submariner Date in excellent condition with all genuine factory Rolex parts.

Case: Beautiful solid stainless steel 40mm diameter case, lightly polished with some original bevel still showing on the lugs. Gently used condition throughout with some swirling from normal wear, no major dings or scratches. The bezel turns with perfect friction in both directions and is also an excellent lightly used condition. Between the lugs at 6 o’clock is correctly stamped with a serial number dating it to approximately 1978 with the model number 1680 stamped between the lugs at 12 o’clock. Inside the back is also fully signed Montre Rolex SA, Geneva Switzerland patented, 1680. Pressure tested waterproof to 10 Bar. The bracelet is a newer 1988 (M8) solid link 93150 with one 580 endlink and one 501B endlink. A hodgepodge bracelet, but still looks great on the watch with only minor stretch and wear.
Dial: A rare “Swiss only” factory service replacement matte dial in mint condition signed Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, Submariner, 660ft=200m, Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified, Swiss. Excellent glowing luminous that matches the pip on the service bezel insert.
Movement: Superb Rolex calibre 1570 Automatic Movement in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition, recently serviced and running beautifully. Signed Montre Rolex SA, 26 Jeels, adjusted 5 positions, Swiss. Comes with our full one year mechanical warranty.
