This is a superb quality vintage coffin style watch box from the well known German retailer Beyer-Zurich. This very solid box simple feels fantastic in the hand, a true piece of art in itself. Beyer was and still is a world renowned retailer of top grade watches from all the famous houses such as Breguet, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre, Vacheron & Constantin etc. Still in business today, they run a beautiful watch and clock museum in central Zurich.
This box is signed on the inner silk lining Chronometrie, Beyer-Zurich, Gegr. 1800. The royal blue velvet base still looks sharp with only a couple of minor flaws. The dark blue leather covered exterior has lovely gold trim and only shows only slight signs of wear consistent with its age. A small painted brass button on the front opens the spring loaded lid. A truly beautiful museum grade artifact from the famed German house of Beyer.
