A rare early waterproof chronograph from the 1940's, this high grade Cyma is set in a large 38mm diameter all Stainless Steel case in excellent condition. The chronograph function are controlled by two round buttons on either side of the original steel crown. The rare dial with copper plate deco style numbers and markers shows even aging giving this watch that wonderful vintage look. The hands are also all original copper or rose gold plate. Recently service with all functions working well.
Note: This early attempt at waterproofing a chronograph was most likely produced in response to the Rolex Oyster waterproof chronograph of the day. Cyma even went as far as to use the same Swiss made Valjoux caliber 22 movement as the competition.
