Style: Art Deco
Circa: 1940's
Case: Classy 3-piece chrome plated case with stainless steel back and fancy art deco lugs. Inside back stamped Election Grand Prix Berne 1914. 33mm diameter. 17mm strap.
Dial: Near mint original factory printed silvered dial with elaborate art deco style mirrored copper colour numbers and markers. Small seconds. Signed Grand Prix Election Non-Magnetic.
Movement: Stylin swiss 15 jewel manual wind movement signed Election, Swiss Made, 3 Adjustments. Caliber 645. Recently serviced and in excellent working condition. Early shock absorbing device on the balance jewels. I love the big screw heads that hold these bridge plates in place. Election had such a great sense of style, even when they designed there movements.
A fantastic example of art deco design coupled with good quality watchmaking. Election Watch Co. produced some of the funkyest designs in the 30's and 40's including there own line of high quality movements. Even though the case on this watch does show some signs of wear, the dial is immaculate and gives this watch that great deco character. An all around very stylin timepiece.
