A stunning 1960's Gallet Multichron Calendar with sharp unpolished stainless steel case and spectacular factory original dial powered by the famous calibre Valjoux 72c movement in excellent working condition, ready to wear.  This rare "waterproof" model is among the most highly sought after Gallet chronographs with pump pusher buttons and waterproof style calendar quick-set pushers at 8:45 and 10:00. It is very similar in look and style to the famous Rolex reference 6036 "Jean Claude Killy" triple-date chrono which houses exactly the same Valjoux 72c as in this Gallet. This example has a beautiful clean look with a bright silver dial, sharp silver and blue steel hands housed in a very gently used unpolished case.  A truly stunning example of this rare to find Gallet triple date chronograph in superb all original condition.

Circa: 1960s

Style: Sport

Case: Solid stainless "waterproof" case measuring 35mm in diameter excluding the original crown and pushers. Sharp original polished surfaces on the bezel and lugs with lightly brushed sides.  A few minor marks are visible from light use but in overall superb, sharp unpolished condition. The chronograph functions beautifully using the pump pushers at 2 and 4 o'clock with the calendar functions adjusted with the buttons at 8:45 and 10 o'clock. The button at 10 quicksets the month with half a push and the month and day with a full push. The button at 8:45 adjust the date. Note: The calendar should never be set between 10pm and 2am as this can damage the calendar drive functions as they are engaged at that time. The case back is fully signed Gallet & Co, Stainless Steel with the model reference number 998.  While this watch was once waterproof, it no longer is due to old original gaskets that can not be changed.

Dial: Stunning original factory printed dial with outer pointer-date chapter in blue, 3 sub-registers for constant seconds, hour and minute recording as well as apertures at 12 o'clock for day and month display.  the silver background is bright and sharp with clean baton style steel hour markers. There is a small loss of printing on the date chapter between 5-8 o'clock but the overall impression is incredibly clean. The original hands are also superb with silver dauphine hour and minute along with beautifully blued steel chrono and calendar hands.

Movement: The famous Valjoux calibre 72C in stunning near mint cosmetic condition, recently serviced in by Meticulous in 2017, running beautifully with all functions working as they should.  Fully signed Gallet & Co, 17 Jewels, Unadjusted, Swiss with the "R" Valjoux logo printed below the balance beside 72C.
