A truly stunning and beautifully preserved 1940's military style Jaeger-LeCoultre wristwatch in a thin solid stainless steel calatrava style case with a wonderful, gently patinaed original factory printed dial, powered by a superb in-house JLC calibre P469/C movement freshly serviced within! The quality and craftsmanship of this somewhat simple WW2 era wristwatch cannot be understated. It is so gorgeous in every way. From the clarity of design of the dial with simple luminous numbers and oversized sub-seconds, to the sharp clean shape of the case and lugs, this watch is a gem from Jeager-LeCoultre history. It has that perfect vintage patina on the dial in an unpolished case with much of its original factory finish still present. Case: Solid stainless steel calatrava style case with simple curved lugs and screw-on case back for a water-resistance. It measures 34mm in diameter excluding the original crown that is moisture protected with a large gasket on the outside of the tube, an interesting and unusual design. It shows very light wear from gentle use throughout with much of its original finish still visible. The lugs spacing measures 16mm and is fitted with a perfectly matched vintage style leather strap with generic stainless steel buckle. The inside back is fully signed Acier Inoxydable, LeCoultre Co, Swiss. This watch should no longer be considered water resistance due to the old original gaskets still being in place.
Dial: Absolutely stunning European market factory printed original dial with outer minute track, luminous numbers and large oversized sub-seconds dial at 6 o'clock, Signed Jeager-LeCoultre, Swiss. The blue steel hands and also in superb condition with matching fill.
Movement: Superb quality in-house JLC designed and manufactured caliber P469/C manual wind movement with early shock protection system on the balance. Signed Fab Suisse, Swiss, Jaeger-LeCoultre with the calibre number stamped on the mainplate below the balance wheel.
