Circa: 1938
Style: Art Deco
Case: Solid 9k yellow gold case made by Dennison of England to house the imported Omega movement and dial, a typical practice in the 1930's used to avoid import taxes and levies on gold at the time. This means we know the watch was almost certainly originally sold in England. The case measures 20mm wide excluding the original crown, by 39mm lug tip to tip. Signed inside the back 88172, Dennison, Made In England, 9 375, ALD 15263. It has fixed lugs and come on a very nice clip on style 18mm genuine leather strap.
Dial: Incredibly beautiful, high Art Deco original factory printed dial with roman numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, sub-seconds at 6:00 and signed Omega Swiss Made. The original blue steel sword shape hands complete the Art Deco look to perfection.
Movement: Superb quality Omega designed and manufactured form style manual wind movement caliber T17 with blue overcoil Breguet style hairspring, bi-metalic cut balance and 15 jewels and an incredible 60 hour power reserve! Just serviced by our watchmaker and keeping excellent time.
