A wonderful vintage 1940's Omega Automatic featuring a truly beautiful original factory printed "tropical" aged dial with a warm golden feel in a fancy solid stainless steel case with long, extended teardrop shape lugs.  This timepiece has such a rare and unique look on the wrist with its dial having naturally aged a beautiful golden honey brown hue, almost matching the colour of the original luminous in the hands and markers. This sort of "tropic" look is what collectors dream of and is absolutely unreplicatable, 100% unique. An early automatic with bumper style caliber 351 movement, this watch is a great example of the quality and craftsmanship Omega is famous for. It has just been freshly serviced here at Meticulous and is keeping great time, ready to adorn a discerning collectors wrist.

Style: Mid-Century Dress

Case: Solid stainless steel 2-piece case measuring 34mm in diameter excluding the original "flat foot" logo scallop shape crown.  The lugs are very long and graceful, measuring 45mm tip to tip with 18mm spacing fitted with a high quality genuine stitched leather strap with generic tang buckle.  The inside of the screw-down case back is stamped Acier Inoxydable, Omega Watch Co, Fab Suisse, Swiss Made with model number 2597-1. Superb overall condition with light surface wear throughout from gentle use.  No longer in water-resistant condition.

Dial: Stunning factory original dial with outer applied markers, some with luminous fill, inner 1/5th seconds track and large, applied Omega logo, signed Omega Automatic, Swiss.  Beautifully aged with light honey brown background. Just a couple of minor scuffs and luminous missing from the marker at 1 o'clock to note.  The original dauphine style hands still have there original luminous fill, perfectly aged to a cream/orange tone matching the markers.

Movement: Omega in-house designed and manufactured caliber 351 early bumper style automatic movement with incabloc protection on the balance jewels. Fully signed Omega Watch Co, Swiss,  17 Jewels, Unadjusted, 351, OXG with a serial number in the 11 million range dating it approximately 1947. Other then a bit of loss of plating on the oscillating weight it is in superb cosmetic and mechanical condition, freshly serviced here at Meticulous and keeping great time with our full 1 year mechanical warranty.
