Style: Military

Circa: 1940's

Case: RARE and unusual stainless steel "Jam Jar" style case in near mint condition. The bezels shape exactly matches the standard issue version of this JLC military timepiece, but this extremely rare prototype design features a slot and turn style back which literally locks in place. Signed inside the back Fond Acier, Inoxydable, Swiss.  Guaranteed 100% genuine Jaeger LeCoultre even though it is not signed with the name. Measures 33.3mm in diameter. 16mm strap. Original plastic crystal.

Dial: Original factory printed dial with green luminous numbers and hands Signed Jaeger LeCoultre. Even Patina.

Movement: High grade signed Jaeger LeCoultre caliber 478 manual wind movement. 17 Jewels. Recently service and in excellent running condition.

This important and possibly unique military style JLC with prototype case is in amazing cosmetic condition and running well. The dial is spectacular and shows a lovely even patina and original luminous radium paint which has turned green except the tips of the hands where it is still the original orange color. The "Jam Jar" style caseback slides easily into position then with a 1/10 of a turn locks into place with an arrow on the back showing which way to "O" open. I highly doubt these were ever place in production as there are certainly not many around, if any at all, making this one of the more rare Jeager LeCoultre watches you will ever see. A true gem in any collection.
