From the heyday of the Longines watch company comes this very stylish and rare chronometre grade Art Deco wristwatch with fancy two tone dial, solid stainless steel case and fully adjusted calibre 25.173 movement.  A beautiful example of high Art Deco design as well as a rare horological masterpiece in this high grade movement!

Style: Art Deco

Circa: 1941

Case: Sharp art deco 2-piece snap back solid stainless steel case with simple curved lugs and brushed/polished details.  Measures 20mm by 34mm excluding the crown and is stamped on the back of the case, Longines.  Inside the back is correctly signed Acier Inox, Staybrite with model reference number 2636.  Comes on a good quality 14mm wide black leather strap.  This watch has quite a small size compared to current mens styles, but would have been revered in the 1940's as it should be today as an amazing small chronometer grade wristwatch.  The crown present fits the watch perfectly, but because its color is slight different from the steel in the case I would have to say it is not original.

Dial: Original factory printed 2-tone dial with fancy mirrored details,  small seconds at 6:00 and a classic high Art Deco design.  Some minor patina and spotting is present, but still truly looks superb on the wrist.  Signed Longines, Swiss Made.  Beautiful original blue steel hands are also in great shape.

Movement:  A truly rare chronometer grade Longines 25.173 manual wind movement signed Longines 17 Jewels, 5 Adj. (Adjustments).  It is also stamped 25.173 under the balance wheel but is very difficult to see unless the balance is removed.   Fully serviced by our watchmaker and in excellent working condition.  Added protection is given by the dust cover which fits over the movement before it is placed back into the steel housing.
