A beautiful and rare 1960 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King-Date Precision in 14k yellow gold and stainless steel with original factory dial, tight fluted bezel and original two-tone bracelet, freshly serviced and ready to wear! Marked exclusively in North America, the Date version of Rolex's famous Air-King series is far less common then is non-date brother and has a slightly larger case then the standard 1500 series Rolex Date models of the same era at just under 35mm in diameter. The other unusual feature is the tightly fluted bezel with about twice as many flutes as a standard Rolex, giving it a very unique look. This example is in excellent gently used condition with lovely champagne dial and hard to find 2-tone Jubilee style American made bracelet. An appealingly unique 1960's twist on a classic Rolex look.

Case: Beautiful unpolished stainless steel case with solid 14k gold bezel and original crown measuring 35mm in diameter accompanied by its original 2-tone 14k gold "Trim" bracelet in excellent gently used condition throughout. Between the lugs at 12:00 is stamped 5701 Registered Design, then at 6:00 with the serial number in the 514XXX range dating it to 1960. Inside the back is also fully signed Montres Rolex SA, Geneva, Switzerland, Patented, Stainless Steel, 5700 with the date code 1.60 or the first 1/4 of 1960. One will often find Rolex put the 5700 stamped case backs on these models. The fact that the case back and bezel stamp both point to 1960 proves this is nice example of one. The bracelet has remarkably little stretch although they were made much looser at the time with actually makes the watch very comfortable on the wrist. It is full length with 22 links total including the endlinks. The clasp is stamped Rolex, Stainless Steel, 14K Trim, USA.
Dial: Original factory printed champagne dial signed Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King-Date, Precision, T Swiss T. Superb condition with just a light shadow around the outer edge. The Air-King style hands are also in beautiful condition with original tritium in place.
