Gorgeous 1930's oversized Tavannes chronograph in solid stainless Staybrite steel with fantastic original Breguet numeral dial featuring outer telemetre track and inner tachymeter "snail" with mirrored details. I just love the way those deep blue steel hands complete the high Art Deco look to perfection. Cyma/Tavannes was one of the top manufactures back in its heyday from the 1910's to 1960's and this is a superb example of that attention to quality, craftsmanship and design. The complex dial is beautifully balanced and legible. It is far bigger then most watches of this era at 39mm in diameter excluding the crown and pushers which again adds to its legibility and a strong presence on the wrist. The case is crafted from the highest quality steel available at the time, Staybrite steel which still has its original brushed polished finish with minor wear throughout. Inside we find a very rare and early Landeron calibre 52 column wheel movement also of superb quality and design. You will notice the olive shape pushers are quite a ways around the case towards the lugs which is largely due to the oversize diameter of the case and very similar to many early Eberhard chronographs of the same era, some of which used the same movement. A truly gorgeous vintage 1930s chronograph of the highest quality from the house of Cyma/Tavannes of Switzerland.
