An fascinating and unusual reversible timepiece produced in the late 1980's by Yema specifically for the transantarctic expedition of Dr. Jean-Louis Etienne and his team, one of only 1500 made. It is designed to find bearings via the Sun and the watch displays mean time as well as sidereal time.  The large 46mm diameter case is crafted from lightweight titanium with crown guards protecting the screw-down crown at 3:30 with hinged lugs and sapphire glass on the front and back.  With the lugs extended the watch measures 58mm lug tip to tip and is fitted with its original 22mm nylon velcro custom made red strap.  The original triangular design box and accessories are very cool with an extra leather strap, screwdrivers and screw for emergency repairs as well as its original instruction manual.  The watch shows some light wear, but is in excellent overall condition with fresh battery installed, keeping great time!
